Eazy-E was an American rapper who was known as the Godfather of Gangsta Rap and had several women who had kids for him. And although he died over two decades ago, his name still echoes a sound of greatness. The legendary rapper who grew up in a violence-prone area managed to carve a niche for himself, and left an indelible mark in the music industry before his untimely death in 1995 and though he is dead, his legacies live on!

Eazy-E Biography

Eazy-E was born Eric Lynn Wright on September 7, 1964, in Compton, California. Having been born in an area known for crimes, drug, and violence, Easy could not resist the life that his notoriously violent environment offered him. He abandoned his high school education at his 10th grade and took to trafficking drugs where he amassed a tone of $250,000 from his illegal activities. He proceeded to obtain a high school general equivalency diploma (GED).

The Gangsta Rapper with his new found fortune veered into building a legitimate career in the music industry. On his entry into music, he met with Jerry Heller, a bosom friend and together they established a label known as Ruthless Records through which Eazy-E released his first album titled Eazy Duz it September of 1988. During the formation of the label, the duo agreed that Easy-E would get 80% ROI while 20% would go to Jerry Heller.

Ice Cube and Dr Dre alongside MC Ren joined Eazy-E to form a hip-hop group known as N.W.A which is an acronym of Niggaz Wit Attitude. They released a couple of albums which includes; Straight Outta Compton released in 1988, and Niggaz4life released in 1991. Following irreconcilable differences, the group formally parted ways. Easy-E second and last studio album titled Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton was released in 1996, ten months after his death.

In his short reign in the music industry, he successfully gained fame and was estimated to be worth about $50 million before he kicked the bucket with his Ruthless Record label valued at $15 million. He had a total of two studio albums, three extended plays, one compilation album with the N.W.A crew and two studio albums with N.W.A.

Family

Eazy-E was born to American parents, Richard Wright and Katie Wright. His dad was a postal worker and his mum was a grade school administrator. They were really supportive of Easy-E during his early age until he started fending for himself. Easy-E also had a cousin who whose life was cut short following his involvement in drug trafficking in the notorious neighborhood of Compton where they primarily grew up. The death of his cousin would later make Easy-E abandon drug business and seek a legitimate means of livelihood.

There is no record of Easy-E having any direct sibling. Though the 5 ft 2 in rapper, throughout his lifetime, was said to have been romantically involved with lots of women. He legally married Tomica Woods in 1995, four years after they met in a nightclub in 1991, only to kick the bucket 12 days into their marriage. She was 3 months pregnant at his demise and 6 months after she gave birth to twins. She currently oversees the affairs of Ruthless Records, her late husband record company; the company has produced songs for defunct music group Black Eyed Pea among others.

Children

Eazy-E may have died, but his kids are representing him in the music world and are doing great things in their own ways. He was believed to have fathered a total of eleven (11) children, however, not all the eleven children of Easy-E are well known.

The popular ones among his kids are his son Eric Darnell Wright Jr and his daughter Erin who legally changed her name to Ebie (E.B).

Eric was born in 1984 and is popularly known with his stage name Lil Easy-E. He was born and raised in the Compton, California just like his late dad and he is currently a musician and has taken hip-hop and gangsta rap as his genres. The young rapper, who is also an HIV activist, is yet to have a studio album but has released two mixtapes.

His sister Erin Bria was born on July 16, 1991, in Compton and she equally took after her late father in becoming a musician; she sings, writes songs, and added business to her list of things, thus, becoming an entrepreneur and TV personality.

She has released a few singles and has been a familiar face in television since her debut in 2007 on MTV's My Super 16. Erin is an amazing entrepreneur with clothing website and clothes label to her credit. Easy-E fathered five other children from five different women.

Six months after the death of Eazy-E, his legally wedded wife Tomica Woods gave birth to a set of twins; a son named Dominick and a daughter named Daijah. A reliable media outfit gave out the other names of Eazy-E other children as; Elijah, Baby Eazy-E, David, Raven, and Marquise Wright.

What Was The Cause Of Easy-E Death?

The death of Eazy-E remains a mystery to everyone that has heard his story; though he was officially announced to have died from complications related to AIDS, Eazy-E himself admitted to having contracted the deadly virus on March 16, 1995, via a public statement, only to die 10 days after in the same month at the age of 31.

The Gangsta Godfather was believed to have also suffered from asthma because he suffered a lingering cough which led to his being admitted at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles in February 1995. Before his death on March 26, 1995, Eazy-E drafted a final message to his teaming fans all over the globe.

However, many people still believe that Eazy-E was murdered and top on this list are his kids. His son, Lil Eazy-E who is also a rapper took to Instagram to air his view about his father's death. He claims that his father didn't just die of an ailment or naturally as according to him, his death never added up. He also publicly alleged that Suge Knight injected his father with the disease with a tainted needle. He opined that the truth is out there but everyone has just been blinded by the fact that his father had a lot of sex partners.

His daughter was not left out as she has also shown dissatisfaction over the story of her father's death. The young singer launched a documentary to unravel the mystery behind the death of her father titled  A Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies. In 2016, she launched a fundraising campaign to raise the fund she required to fund the project. There is no information on the completion of the documentary yet.
